With the sun set low over the endless waterline that stretched out to touch the sky, Miami beach is well known for its fantastic views, warm evenings... ... And wild parties. Tonight was no different. The senior students were hosting a party at a beach, private in a public location. But there weren't only just senior students there. Anyone really was allowed to go there - just as long as they didnt mind the drinking. David obviously didn't. Currently he was standing one one side of a net along with another guy. Two others were on the opposing side. "Serve, dammit!" David shouted as the other two talked amongst themselves. "Ah shut it, we'll serve when we're ready." Came the reply. Sighing with a bit of impatience, he looked down, moving his leg to run his bare toes through the fine sand. Actually, aside from his undergarment, shorts and an open dress shirt, David had brought nothing else with him - perk of being well liked, you got in for free!

The party wasn't exactly what Ronnie had expected it to be. Although it had been a good turnout, the alcohol supply was low, and weak. Drugs were scarce, and everyone seemed to be there just to scout the boys and girls for a date to the next dance. To Ronnie it all seemed pointless, and so she had brought along her own bottle of vodka, which she planned to keep to herself so that she could drown out her worries. Upon arrival, many greeted her with a smile as she was one of the it girls at Miami High. It didn't bother her much that people were wanting a conversation but she definitely wanted to stroll down to the water and drink in peace.
As expected, a group of boys were already beginning up a volleyball game stripping down so that the girls could gawk at their well worked out stomachs and the golden v shape that lead down to the treasure. Ronnie stopped near the edge of the net to watch the game as it happened. She noticed a familiar face here and there, but she tried her best to stay in the shadows and not be noticed as she took a sip of her vodka.
Ronnie did notice one particular boy who was getting into the game. He definitely had a reputation around the school and she'd spoken to him once or twice. With a finger she motioned him over to her as she walked away from the crowd.

"Out!"
David cursed to himself as he stumbled back to his feet, shaking sand out of his shirt. The first time they scored against him and his friend. Tossing the ball back to the other team, he noticed quite a few people had started to watch... and one of them was beckoning to him?
Ah, Veronika. The well known girl at school for one of the best bodies. It was a bit confusing to see if it was She or Him that was more popular, but David didn't truely care either way. He made friends with almost everyone, so why bother competing?
"Richard, take my spot." He said to a guy standing off the side of the net. He nodded and quickly jogged in while David spun about on his heel and noticed that Veronika had walked away. In a roundabout way, he began to follow her, wondering what she had to say this time?

The young girl didn't look behind her, knowing that the boy was following her. The two were quite popular within the High School world, and so it wasn't terribly strange to see them walking off together. While most students were thinking that David was about to get some, it was highly unlikely as Veronika had already begun her drinking for the night, although that could lead to something more than just a simple conversation. Eventually Veronika found herself a place far enough away from the party, and turned to look at David as he approached.
"How have you been?" she asked, looking up at the stars, her head bobbing around as if she was following something unseen in the sky. "Wow," she spoke, more to herself than anyone, "sure is lovely up there." Her head was definitely a different place, people often that perhaps her mother had dropped her on her head as a baby or something crazy like that, as she seemed to be in an almost dream like state all the time.

David could still hear the shouting and the music from the location Veronika had picked out, but it was around a bend where they would be hidden from the rest of the party. As she spun about, he smiled and nodded a small bit, easy going all the way.
Standing beside her, David turned and looked up into the sky, following her gaze to see nothing. He personally knew this area quite well, but he wasn't too sure if she shared those memories with him or not. "Skydiving on a clear day is really quite something, I heard." He quipped in return to her statement. They stood facing one another, almost as they had the first day...
Shaking his head a bit to clear it, David rubbed his forearm with his opposing hand. "I've been going well, how about yourself, 'ronnie?" He said, teasing her with the name just slightly. Internally he steeled himself for a punch, but from her rather tiny frame, he wasn't expecting to be hurt. And if she tried to fight him, David knew that he would at least enjoy a bit of wrestling. With her though... he was a bit frayed on that topic.
He stared over at the water, the gentle waves crashing onto the beach just a few feet from them. "You wanted to talk?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
