As it usually was in Miami, the sun was high in the sky, shining through the windows upon the floors of the school. It would have been nice for any tourist, but citizens often felt the consequences of the heat, and weren't big fans of it, though they had to admit it was much better than having to deal with cold breezes, or even worse.. snow. To be honest, Aiden kind of enjoyed the sun, even though it often burnt his skin a bright red, which had forced him to stay indoors a lot more in order to stay his natural, almost vampiric, paleness. Even though he was born in Miami, he often was asked if he came from somewhere where there was minimal sun.. like Canada.. or Antarctica.
It was finally lunch, and the students were spread out inside the school and some outdoors, in fact, most outdoors. As per usual, Aiden searched for a room within in the school to hide himself in from conversation with others. To his luck, the music room was available, and so he darted in, snatching it before anyone else did. He had finished his lunch earlier in the day when he was on one of his many spares that he had somehow landed that year, and so he was able to do whatever he wanted during lunch hour.
Having scored the music room, his day had brightened by a whole lot. The young boy jogged across the room to open a cupboard where he picked out one of the better acoustic guitars that the school had. Biting down on his lip he made his way down to the floor and seated himself on a stool. First, he tuned the guitar to his liking, and then began to strum quietly, hoping he wouldn't attract any attention of students. words: 305 tag: aaron <3 outfit: clickk notes: sorry it's not the best, hah

Riley was in a mood, yet again. He had just spent an hour in AP Chemistry, siting perfectly still, filling in little bubbles on an exam scantron. Riley felt numb yet alive as his feet, almost instinctively, carried him to the door of the music room. He was deep in thought, his mind still back in the classroom, with his test. He wasn't worrying about passing, he knew he had passed, but what his father would say - or do - if he thought his son was "neglecting his studies".
He found himself sitting down at the piano in the music room, with only fleeting memories of how he got there. He glanced around the room, seeing a kid sitting on one of the stools, with a guitar.
"Oh. Hey. Sorry, do you want me to leave?" Riley asked the unknown. Looking at the kid at little closer, he realized that he had seen this kid around school... somewhere.

Aiden had heard the boy come in long before he had made his way to the piano. With his head lowered, he glanced up watching the boy awkwardly as he waited for him to notice him. Aiden was used to not being noticed though, not many students.. or even some teachers did. It was because of how quiet he was.. at least that's what the brunette guessed. Eventually the other boy was aware of Aiden who was seated on a stool near the piano. "Oh. Hey. Sorry, do you want me to leave?" the boy asked, looking closer at Aiden.
Slowly he lifted his head to look at the boy more clearly. Surely they had passed in the halls, or perhaps had a class together.. but Aiden had most definitely seen this boy before. He was shorter than Aiden, not by much, but definitely shorter, and his hair had a mind of it's own. Kind of neat, really. "O-oh.. umm.. it's.. er.. fine," he smiled a little as he spoke, "I'd uhh.. like to hear.. you.. uh.. play? It's f-fine if you don't w-want to though.." he stumbled over his words, fidgeting with the guitar, which he held on his lap. words: 201 tag: aaron <3 outfit: clickk notes: loololol gotta make this quick, before the meds kick in

"O-oh.. umm.. it's.. er.. fine." Riley's eyebrows shot up when the kid spoke. Is that a stutter, Riley thought, regarding his fellow musician with a intense, engaged gaze. His next faltering words, "I'd uhh.. like to hear.. you.. uh.. play? It's f-fine if you don't w-want to though," transformed Riley's expression into one of sharp interest.
"Actually, I could use your help with something. I have this piano intro that I wrote, but I'm stuck on the rock section. Do you think you could think of something if I played you the piano part?" Riley asked in rush, already pushing back the key cover, and sliding his bag off his shoulder.

"Actually, I could use your help with something. I have this piano intro that I wrote, but I'm stuck on the rock section. Do you think you could think of something if I played you the piano part?" the other boy asked, which caused Aiden to raise his eyebrow slightly. No one had ever asked for his help for music, but of course not many people knew that Aiden was into music, and so he wans't quite sure if he was ready to help anyone quite yet with something that important. Biting his lip, the young brunette thought carefully about his answer.
"I suppose so," he said quietly and moved his chair over closer to the piano, still trying to keep his space from the other boy, as he didn't want to invade his personal space. With that, Aiden patiently waited for the other boy to start playing the piano. words: didn't check xD tag: aaron <3 outfit: clickk notes: sorry i took forever xD BUT I'M BACK

"I suppose so." Riley felt and heard the clunk of the cover nesting into it's slot, and then dived for his bag, pulling out a few pages of handwritten music from the clutter and dropped it onto the stand. There was a long moment of pause as Riley gathered all his faculties and positioned his hands correctly.
The piece he was playing was fast, polyphonic, with punchy dynamics and played the personalities of major A and D off of minor C and E off each other.
Riley took his hands off the keys and looked over at Aiden. "Uh, it's in 6/8 time, but I can try to put it into common time, if that might help," Riley said, already picking up a pencil to do the conversions.
Notes: will code later. Sorry about all the music terminology, if you didn't get music theory in school I can explain it to you.
