It was lunch time, and most of the students were in the cafeteria snacking on junk food, not caring about their health. Then there were the other students who sat outside for lunch and enjoyed the heat, and finally there was Aiden, who made his home in the English classroom. Together there were four desks, which formed a large square. Aiden was sat so that his back was facing the door, while hunched over his homework, taking bites here and there of his lunch. Being a vegetarian limited him to only certain foods, but it was nice, because he felt much more fresh, and awake.
On that particular day, he had packed himself a salad, a bottle of water, and some gum for afterwards so his breath wouldn't smell like lettuce or anything. Aiden was careful about things like that, as he always feared embarrassment, which was one of the major reasons he kept to himself, rather than spending his time with others. Both his parents and teachers were well aware of his anti-social problem, and suggested to him to make friends. Instead of taking their advice, he found himself sitting in empty classrooms, doing extra homework, which made him ahead of the rest of the class.
With a small sigh, he tapped his pen lightly against the desk as he took another bite of his salad. Outside, the sun was shining as per usual, and students were sprawled out across the football field wearing minimal clothing, trying their best to not only get a tan, but also get the attention of the opposite sex. Aiden however, could never do that, as he had no muscle, and was as pale as a sheet, making it difficult for him to even attract attention from either of the genders.
Sliding his chair back the slightest bit, Aiden stood and walked over the window. The English room was on the second floor, making it easy to look out over the other students, without having to worry about them noticing. Each group of students were very cliche like, creating the 'normal' American High School. There were the jocks looking sexy as hell, the theatre kids, the nature freaks, and a few other cliques, making conversation while enjoying the sun. Aiden bit his lip, wishing he could fit in somewhere.. anywhere.

Chelsey was lost. The tree which she normally sat under, offering her the warmth of the sun, without the serious chance of getting skin cancer, had been taken by a loud group of grade twelves. She wasn't about to get into an argument with them, so she had simply left and walked back inside. All the classrooms were locked, and she didn't want to stand about in the halls looking like a fool. She finally found a door on the second story which was open, and she quickly darted inside of it.
Looking around, she realized this was one of the senior student english rooms, which explains why she had never been in here before. Slowly looking around, she noticed a student staring out the windows. Not wanting to disturb him, She quietly walked to a desk and sat down on top of it, a nasty habit she picked up ever sinse elementary school. Crossing her legs, she pulled her small notepad and pencil out of her pocket, and looked around, before slowly continuing on with her current drawing.

If it wasn't for the slight movement of the desk, Aiden wouldn't have even noticed that there was another person in the room. Whoever it was, had entered quietly, and sneakily. It was his head that moved first, and then the rest of his body. Atop one of the many empty desks sat a girl with her legs crossed, and a notepad upon her lap. Luckily for Aiden, she didn't seem to be looking for trouble, or teasing, in fact, he was quite sure she just wanted somewhere quiet to be. The young boy studied her quietly, not wanting to disturb whatever she was doing. Her hair was smooth and fell past her shoulders, giving her an almost innocent type look. He fidgeted nervously with the fabric of his shirt.
The girl was pretty, but then again, most girls were. This one.. was different. She looked.. softer, more gentle than the others, untouched. Taking a few quiet steps he brought himself closer to her. "U-umm.. hello.. wh-what are you doing?" he asked quietly, stumbling over his words. Of course that wasn't the only thing he could have said, but he wanted to start a simple conversation. She had after all entered his quiet sanctuary of loneliness.

Jumping a bit in shock, Chelsey's reflexes automaticly snapped the notebook shut, holding it close to her. The person at the window had turned around and walked towards her without her noticing, which was just as fair considering she had practicly done the same to him. She noted how much older he was compared to her, and suddenly felt a bit self-concious. She drew her green sweater a bit close to her, her face going a bit red as she spoke. "Hi, um, sorry to disturb you." She said quickly, looking down at her notebook. "What, this? Its nothing really." Chelsey wondered if she should just say her goodbyes and walk back out the door, she didn't mean to bother him at all, but she looked back up at him, wide-eyed as she waited for a responce. Aiden twiddled his thumbs, watching the girl out of the corner of his eye. As he had made his first few movements the girl had closed her notebook and held it close to her, making it obvious that he was not allowed to see what was inside. Aiden was okay with that, since he had his own things he'd like to keep to himself rather than exposing to a stranger that just so happened to show up. As he waited for her to speak, he sat on the desk across from the girl, making sure they weren't too close, as he didn't want to scare her away.
"Hi, um, sorry to disturb you," she said, her eyes drifting to the notebook. Aiden couldn't help but look at the notebook as well, but eventually he tore his eyes away, and focused on the part of her face that was showing. "What, this? Its nothing really," she spoke again before looking back up at him. The boy bit down on his lip, not quite sure what to say. Obviously she didn't want him to know much about that notebook, and what was held in that notebook, and Aiden wasn't about to force anything out of the girl.
"O-oh.." he looked at the window for a moment, before looking back at her, "I umm.. my name.. is Aiden." His words were quiet and mumbled a bit, but still audible. Introductions were never something he was good at. As soon as it came to talking about himself, he would totally forget who even was.

Smiling a little, Chelsey nodded to Aiden slowly, looking about the rather empty classroom slowly.
"My name is Chelsey. Coast." She said, blushing a little. She hated her last name, but her name was so common she had to use it. She was forgotten easily. She relaxed a little, at least he wasn't all that bad. He hasn't told her to get out, at least.
"Why aren't you outside?"
(I'm sorry. I can't think of anything. Thats why it took me so long.

"My name is Chelsey. Coast," the girl stated her name, as a slight blush started growing upon her cheeks. Aiden bit his lip in response, biting back asking whether or not he was bothering her. He didn't want to make her feel nervous.. or scared.. or anything like that really, as he never wanted anyone to make him feel like that. It was bad enough that the two had to share a room so that others wouldn't bother them, but now that the conversation was quieting down, it became more and more awkward for Aiden.
Swinging his legs a little, he looked down at his shoes. They were in good condition, which was nice, because he didn't want to give her the impression that he didn't know how to dress himself like most boys his age. "Why aren't you outside?" she spoke again, brining his attention to her. Aiden tilted his head to the side slightly, glancing over at the window and then back at Chelsea. "Too many people," he played with a loose string on his shirt nervously, "h-how.. how about you?" His answer had been simply, a little anti-social, but honest, which is all that matters, right?

Trying not to be a nervous wreck, which it seems both of them were at this point in time, Chelsey smiled a bit at Aidan, wondering if she could get him to relax. "Um, the place I usually sit at was... occupied." She said, a little louder than before, trying to portray a confidence she didn't have. Placing the notebook on the table, she clasped her hands together and looked directly at him, then out the window at the bright, sunny day.

"Um, the place I usually sit at was... occupied," the girl spoke with more confidence this time, looking him in the eye, before glancing out at the window. Aiden fed off of this confidence and took in a deep breath. He stood, took a step and then sat down next to her, blocking the view out the window, so that she would pay attention to him and nothing else. "You could umm.. stay here? I really don't mind.. it's er.. nice having.. company," he smiled.
It was true, it wasn't often that he got a chance like this, and he knew now that he had to take it while it lasted. Aiden focused to keep his eyes on her, and to not fidget as much as he had before. They were going to be feeding off of each other's confidence, which was what Aiden was sure was going to be happening, so he would have to also be able to put in input.
